The National Speakers Association-Illinois chapter has named Cheryl McClenahan Kuba Humanitarian of the Year in recognition of her volunteer service to over 10 Chicago and regional Illinois health and social service organizations. Mrs. Kuba is president, Aging Parent Solutions, in Chicago, which specializes in senior housing industry consulting services. As a gerontologist, Mrs. Kuba directs feasibility studies, market research and analysis for senior housing clients throughout the country. A noted lecturer and author on gerontological issues, she has worked in the senior housing and health care fields for more than 15 years. Mrs. Kuba has addressed the American Association of Homes & Services for the Aging national conference; the Gerontological Society of America, the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education and the Life Services Network. Mrs. Kuba’s forthcoming book, “Navigating the Journey of Aging Parents: What Care Receivers Want-What Caregivers Should Do” is the result of her extensive hands-on experiences with the aging. The National Speakers Association award recognizes work by a member whose “balance in life is personified by giving through good works for humanity.” |

| Mrs. Kuba is a native of Chicago’s south side and southern suburbs. Her Master of Arts degree in gerontology is from Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago. Her undergraduate work in mass communications was at Western Illinois University, McComb, IL. Her background includes a distinguished business magazine editorial career.
